EVENT DESCRIPTION: The 8 th annual 3 Rivers Race Against Domestic Violence is a benefit bike or run (individual or team) event  located in the beautiful Grande Ronde Valley to raise money for the domestic violence centers in Union, Baker, and Wallowa Counties.

REGISTRATION FEE: The entry fee is a $75 minimum pledge for individuals (includes a t-shirt and BBQ) or $100 family (Includes a BBQ for 4 members. T-shirts may be purchased for $15 each).  This is a benefit so participants are encouraged to raise as much in pledges as they can.  Our goal is $18,000.  LET'S DO IT!!!

PARTICIPANTS: Participants can choose to bike, run or walk as individuals or as members of cycling or running/walking teams.

ROUTES: There are a number of routes to choose from: We have something for everybody including a 10K for runners and a 5 K for walkers, a half and full marathon for runners and family bikers, and a metric century and century bike for teams and individuals.

START/ FINISH: The race will start and finish at Riverside Park in La Grande, Oregon. Official start times for bikers are at 6, 8 or 10 a.m. depending on how far and how fast  you are planning on riding.  Plan finishing between 1 and 2 p.m.    For runners the start times are as follows:  5K and 10K   12noon   1/2marathon  11 am.  Full marathon 8 a.m.  Walkers 5 and 10K at 11am and 1/2 marathon 9 am.

PLEDGES: This is a charity event.  We ask that each participant collect as many pledges as possible. Remember, there will be prizes for those who raise over $250.  Remember, this is a fundraiser for a GREAT cause; most people are willing to give $5-$10. It is easiest to collect your $ at the time of solicitation. Prizes for the most pledges will be given

WHERE THE PROCEEDS GO: ALL proceeds go to The Shelter from the Storm, Mayday, or Safe Harbors, depending on which program is in your area. These programs offer valuable services such as crisis intervention, counseling, support groups, transportation, advocacy in the legal system, 24 hour crisis hotline;aide in the form of sheltering victims and their immediate family;making community presentations in order to create more awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence in our communities.Thank you for your support!

PRIZES/AWARDS: A grand prize will go to the individual who raises the most money.  The family who raises the most money and anybody who raises more than $250 in pledges will receive a prize as well. Prizes will also be granted to the fastest individual and the fastest bike team for the 69 mile route; the fastest individual and running team for the half and full marathon; and the fastest individual for the century bike.

SPONSORSHIPS: Organizational Teams are encouraged to ask their administration for a $250 (silver) or $500 (gold) sponsorship.  This does not take the place of the $75 individual minimum pledge.  Sponsors will get their name on the T-shirt (gold sponsors get bigger font), on banners placed throughout the race, recognition at the post race party, and recognition in the media.
